Architecture Studio foster + partners won the American Architecture Award for its renovation and renovation of the Carnegie Library in Washington, D.C., which is now home to Apple’s Carnegie Library. Opened in 1903, the building is the first public library in Washington, D.C., and the first public building to eliminate apartheid. Originally designed by Ackerman & Ross, the building is famous for its artistic style which draws heavily on French neoclassicism, Gothic and Renaissance elements. From the turn of the century to 2017, apple began to decorate the library into the apple Carnegie Library, the location of the city’s second apple store. The renovation was carried out by foster + partners, a British international architectural design firm based in London. The renovation takes about two years and the store will reopen in May 2019. < / P > < p > Interior decoration uses materials suitable for historical environment and is inspired by the unique details of the 20th century. It also stands out for its sustainability efforts – the building features a reintroduction of natural ventilation and “heavy use of sunlight,” according to the American Architecture Awards. < / P > < p > like many of Apple’s retail stores, apple offers free “today at Apple” courses that focus on photography, music production, programming, and photography.
