Alphabet’s Google said Friday it would not file a motion to dismiss the lawsuit filed by the U.S. government last month, but would defend it in federal court. In October, the U.S. Department of Justice filed an antitrust lawsuit against the $1 trillion search and advertising giant, accusing it of illegally using its dominant market position to impede competition. The two sides said in a brief court paper Friday that Google would not file a motion to dismiss the suit. The company said it would submit a response to the government lawsuit by December 21. The U.S. Department of justice and Google also said they failed to reach an agreement on how to protect confidential information provided to the government by third parties. They said they would submit a position statement by November 13. Global Tech
