Microsoft today announced that it will rename the mobile phone image scanning software Office Lens to Microsoft Lens. As part of the name change, the software will also get a new icon.

In addition, Microsoft Lens will be updated with new features, such as image to text, image to table, image to contact, immersive reader and QR code scanning, which were previously only available through OneNote.

The update will also include an improved scanning experience. Users can now reorder pages, re-edit scanned PDFs, apply filters to all images in a document, and scan up to 100 pages as PDF images. This update will also enable users to switch between local and cloud while saving PDFs, and provide an easy way to identify local and cloud files.
