Chaoyuange site is located in the north of the third peak of xixiuling mountain in Lintong District, Xi’an City, Shaanxi Province, with an altitude of 697 meters. Since 2018, Shaanxi Provincial Institute of archaeology has excavated the site. A large number of unearthed relics and relics show that the main building of chaoyuange site, as well as the auxiliary buildings such as footpaths and corridors on both sides of the East and west sides, with a total area of more than 2000 square meters, have been excavated. Due to its good preservation, the rare wooden components of Tang Dynasty, such as ditiao and pilaster, have been unearthed in chaoyuange site, revealing many special structural practices, providing irreplaceable material for the study of wood construction technology in the prosperous Tang Dynasty. According to experts, the excavation of the chaoyuange site has provided very useful information for understanding the layout of the Huaqing Palace in the Tang Dynasty and the structure of the foundation site of the Chaoyuan Pavilion, as well as its impact on later buildings.
